The coal Preparation Plants at BMA Goonyella/Riverside mine decided on a fieldbus network for the control systems. Both plants ran separate brands of PLC’s which both supported Profibus DP, through Beckhoff because of our product independence we were able to supply the common fieldbus I/O terminals for both Washplants. Beckhoff is now the site specified standard for Fieldbus I/O terminals, and we are currently supplying more components for upgrades.

Ikon and Beckhoff recently were awarded the contract to supply Fieldbus I/O terminals to EDL for there gas fired power station projects at Middlemount and the West Kimberly.

Trapped key interlocks from fortress are regarded as the industry standard for High Voltage switchgear interlocking. In conjunction with the isolation devices we also have a range of access locks that prevent access in unsafe conditions. We are currently in the process of Re-fitting full stainless steel interlocks on the 11 Kv and the 6.6Kv systems on the Dalrymple Bay Coal Terminal 7x project (DBCT). Every coal mine in the Bowen Basin in Central Queensland has a Fortress interlock installed on site.

Our resistors are used in many applications and at present we have supplied the following projects:- 11Kv Neural earthing resistors for the new BMA washplant at Blackwater, DBCT 7X project, Carborough Downs joint venture project.

ELLIS VALVE INTERLOCKS: These interlocks replace the existing drive form on the valve, but are lockable in certain states ie: open or closed. These valve interlocks are currently used by Santos, QAL, CAR project in Gladstone.
